The service is very good, and so are the prices and portions. Only thing is I think the owners choice of pairing deep house music to a family restaurant atmosphere is a little unusual, but all around Healthy Garden is a great choice for budget friendly, flexible health options.
Can't wait to revisit and give their hot entrees a go.
They were finishing our order when I told them about dining in, and we were ready to just grab a table and eat out of the take-out bags, but they were kind enough to plate everything and serve it to our table without our asking. On top of that, the staff was very friendly. Consummate courtesy.
A friend and I originally ordered take-out, and got there around the time the food would be ready (20 min or so). At the last minute, we decided to eat in instead because we didn't want to deal with the mess at home.
I ordered from here from Eat 24 for breakfast. I walked away from my phone and saw that I had a missed call and a voicemail. The voicemail said "Oh wow of course she didn't answer." I worked in customer service for years and did not appreciate this at all. When I called back I immediately asked for the manager. He stated that he was the one who called but insisted he didn't leave a messsge. Their phone number was linked to the message so I just stated I wanted my money back. This isn't the first time I've had bad customer service at this restaurant and I definitely won't be going there again.
The highlight for me is definitely the array of juices. My friend ordered a drink called the "Cholesterol Reducer", which contains carrots, apples, ginger, and GARLIC. We knew this going in, and it did not disappoint. We both tried it, and it burned a hole through each our chests - but if it burns that bad going down, it has to be good for you right?
Always looking for good options when it comes to food so this place was my go to when ordering takeout to get at work. First time I ordered, my boss paid so when the food was not what i was expecting it made me feel better that I didn't pay for it. Not only did they take almost two hours to bring it to us but they got my order wrong. They brought it back within the hour and it was not good. The falafel wrap tasted like cardboard. I'm pretty sure that the falafel wasn't even falafel. It was really bad. I don't like to judge a restaurant off of one bad meal so I tried again today. I ordered a platter. First off, I paid $30 got a small takeout bowl with hardly any food in it and onion rings. Not only was it a ridiculous price Did what I got but to think they thought that it was a normal serving was what blew me away. They used the "falafel" balls to cover the dry rice that was barely there, they gave me two thin slices of avocado and wilted lettuce. When I say I have never eaten food so disgusting in my life, I mean it. I threw in some sauce and tried to make it better since I was starving but it went right into the garbage. $30 worth of food in the trash. My co-worker ordered the salmon and to her dismay it was just as bad. Never getting food from here. No one should have to pay that much money for garbage.
First-visit review, but great service and quality food. Will revisit and ping that 5th star if it holds.
Finding a “legitimate” health food restaurant in Middlesex county is very hard. I anticipated that this restaurant would be the norm, labeled as healthy when it’s really not. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a large menu with offerings with lots of veggies and other good delicious healthy ingredients such as avocado. Everything I’ve ever ordered from here is well balanced and fresh. The greens they use for salads are spinach, arugula, instead of ice-burg like food establishments usually do. Additionally, they have paleo friendly options, they can make almost anything gluten free or with vegan cheese.
While visiting NJ I was looking for a vegan restaurant or cafe and I went to Google maps to do my search and came across this place Healthy Garden cafe. The food was ok I asked for a blueberry pancakes and got blueberries on top of my pancakes, the pancake didn't taste like a organic or gluten free it tasted like regular pancake mix, the eggs white got cold really fast, the carrot juice was good. The service was good waitress very sweet and police. Atmosphere was good very family or couples oriented. Hopefully someone who works at this cafe see this and tweet the things I pointed out..
I had a tzatziki chicken wrap - was fresh and flavorful, no overly bold or soggy with sauce. Cajun fries - warm and nicely spiced. Washed it down with a "Body Cleanser" juice (carrots, cucumbers, beets, apples). They have much more exciting menu items (it's a huge menu), but we decided to play it safe on our first go.
